今日は土曜日。飴屋の工場と店舗はお休みです。
朝から曇り空でしたが、
「今がチャンス！桜は満開で見頃」と思ったら、
なんだかそわそわしてきて――
気がつけば、並木道に向かって歩き出していました。
毎年のように見に行っている景色なのに、
やっぱり今年も、どうしても会いに行きたくなる。
そんな気持ちになるのが、一目千本桜なんです。
並木道に足を踏み入れた瞬間、
曇り空を覆うように咲く桜が視界いっぱいに広がっていて、
その下には、やさしい笑顔で歩く人たちの姿が続いていました。

この日も、桜の並木道にはたくさんの人が訪れていて、
小さなお子さんからご年配の方までのご家族連れ、
ベビーカーを押してゆっくり歩くお母さん・お父さん、
桜の下で立ち止まり、シャッターを切る人たち、
手をつないで微笑み合うご夫婦、
パンフレットを手に歩く若い人たち。
ちらほらと外国語の会話が聞こえるグループの皆さん、
桜の下でブルーシートを広げて宴会の準備をする若い人たち
を多く見かけました。
どの姿もやさしくて、どこかあたたかい空気が流れていました。
🎪 まつりのにぎわいと、たくさんの笑顔
おおがわら桜まつり会場には、ぼんぼりが並び、
川沿いの広場では大道芸人さんのショーが始まると、
子どもたちが大喜びで拍手を送り、大人たちからも笑い声が響いて、
にぎやかな空気が町を包んでいました。
お昼時には、お弁当販売の場所にも長い列ができていて、
みなさん、美味しそうなお弁当を手にして、桜の下で春の味わいを楽しんでいました。
曇り空ではありましたが、町内の道路には車の列もできていて、
どこからこんなに集まってきたのかと思うほど。
「やっぱりこの桜は、みんなにとって特別なんだなぁ」と、
ちょっぴり誇らしいような気持ちになりました。
☁️ 桜の行方が、ちょっぴり気になる空模様
あと数日間は、一目千本桜はまだ見頃だと思いますが、
明日の天気予報はあいにくの雨模様。
晴れた日の満開をもう一度見たい気持ちと、
雨で散ってしまわないかという心配が、入り混じっています。
🏞️ 神社で出会った、静かな桜の風景
帰り道には、飴屋の近くにある神社にも立ち寄ってみました。
ここにも桜が咲いていて、人のいない境内にそっと枝を広げていました。
静かなその景色の中で、
「どうか明日は晴れますように――」と、
心の中でそっと祈ってみたりして。
一目千本桜のにぎやかさとは対照的なその場所に、
なんとも言えないやさしさと静けさを感じて、
ふぅっと深呼吸。気持ちがすっと整うような時間でした。

Today is Saturday. The Ame-shop’s factory and store are closed.
It’s been cloudy since morning, but as I thought, “Now’s my chance! The cherry blossoms are in full bloom and at their best,”
I started to get excited —
and before I knew it, I was walking towards the tree-lined path.
It’s a view I go to see every year,
but this year, I just can’t help but want to go and see them again.
That’s the feeling I get from Hitome Senbonzakura.
The moment I stepped onto the tree-lined path,
the cherry blossoms blooming as if to cover the cloudy sky filled my field of vision,
and below them, I could see people walking with kind smiles on their faces.

On this day, many people were visiting the cherry blossom-lined path,
including families from small children to the elderly,
mothers and fathers walking slowly with strollers,
people stopping under the cherry blossoms to take pictures,
couples holding hands and smiling at each other,
young people walking with pamphlets in their hands.
Occasionally, I could hear groups speaking foreign languages,
and I saw many young people spreading out blue tarps under the cherry blossoms and preparing for a party.
Everyone was kind, and there was a warm atmosphere in the air.
【🎪 The excitement of the festival and lots of smiles】
Lanterns were lined up at the Oogawara Cherry Blossom Festival,
and when the street performers began their show in the square along the river,
children burst into joyous applause, and adults cried out in laughter,
and a lively atmosphere enveloped the town.
At lunchtime, a long line had formed at the bento box sales area,
and everyone picked up a delicious-looking bento and enjoyed the taste of spring beneath the cherry blossoms.
Despite the cloudy sky, cars were lined up on the roads in town,
and it made you wonder where all those people had come from.
“These cherry blossoms must be special to everyone after all,” I thought,
and I felt a little proud.

I think the Hitome Senbonzakura will still be in full bloom for the next few days, but unfortunately the weather forecast for tomorrow is rain. I’m feeling a mixture of excitement to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom again on a sunny day, and worry that the rain will cause them to fall apart.
🏞️ A tranquil cherry blossom scene I encountered at a shrine
On the way back, I stopped by a shrine near the candy shop.
Cherry blossoms were in bloom here too, spreading their branches gently in the deserted grounds.
In this quiet scene,
I found myself silently praying in my mind,
“I hope tomorrow will be a sunny day.”
In contrast to the bustle of Hitome Senbonzakura,
I felt an indescribable gentleness and serenity in this place,
and took a deep breath. It was a time when my mind felt at peace.
